The 1970s ushered in the end of movie musicals. Many of the musicals of the 1970s were based on "Rock" musicals, such as "Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Godspell" and "Hair." Several movie musicals were specifically written for the screen, including some biographies of musical talents, such as Buddy Holly and Fanny Brice.
