My name is Claire Rottenberg and I'm a writer and publisher of ebooks on Mac OS X. Before starting my own online company a few years ago, I had a long and successful career as an educator. In the past two and a half years, I've written over 10 ebooks and designed and maintained several websites and blogs.
I started this blog in October, 2008 as a parallel blog to my website on movie musicals. I love movie musicals, especially those from the 1950s through 1980s, and I own a huge collection of movies on DVD. I grew up in New York City and my parents took me to my first musical play, "South Pacific," when I was about 6 years old. We went to see Broadway plays, usually musicals, several times a year and we saw every movie musical that was made, starting with "Oklahoma" in 1955. By the time I was a teenager, I was hooked on musicals. When I was old enough to go to the theater by myself, I made the trip into Manhattan every Saturday to see a matinee and I probably saw almost every musical that was produced from the mid-1960s until the mid-1970s when I left New York. This blog will reflect my love of Broadway musicals as well as movie ones. Eventually, I will expand my movie musicals website to include Broadway productions.
In my spare time, I like to surf the net and I can often be found on social networking sites, such as Stumbleupon, Twitter, MySpace, and Facebook.
